The force-bearing point of a vertical motor rotor lies in the thrust bearings, which is relatively far from the axle stretch and near the barring rod. Additional radial support is needed at the bottom of the car while barring. A supporting tool with rolling bearings sprayed with lubricating grease is specially designed to prevent the axle from damage. After the barring tools and radial support is mounted on the barring motor, the barring starts. On the stationary part of the barring motor install two dial indicators, with two pointers indicating the radial position of the rotor and axle stretch respectively.
